Deus Ex: Human Revolution

The original Deus Ex was a landmark in PC gaming, simultaneously blending FPS and RPG elements with a compelling narrative. Personally, I would consider it a serious contender for Game of the Decade.  With some excellent texture packs released by the community and a new Direct3D 10 renderer, the game remains quite accessible even today. Its sequel, Invisible War, was sadly marred by its parallel development for consoles, and developer Ion Storm closed shortly thereafter.

Nearly seven years later, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix are attempting to resurrect the dormant franchise once more. You can view the new promotional trailer here. Unfortunately, no gameplay footage is revealed, but the atmosphere and tone  seem to be in line with the original.  Sequels are always difficult to pull off, but inherent reservations aside, this looks quite promising at any early stage.  Hopefully, E3 will shed more light on what we can expect.
